Book Your Session
Choose a date and time that works for you and reserve your session with a deposit that secures your studio time. This allows us to prepare the experience just for your family.
Attend Session
Arrive about 10 minutes early to settle in. From there, our photographer will guide your child through the session at a comfortable pace—no rushing, no forced smiles.
Portrait Viewing
After your session, you’ll meet with an Art Director—either in person or virtually—to view your images and explore artwork options at your own pace.

Meet the owners - Janelle and Frank
Hello!!! We are Frank and Janelle and the proud owners of Bluebird Portraits in Lake Orion! We live nearby in Waterford with two teenagers—a son and a daughter—and three dogs. I, (Janelle) have worked with Bluebird for many years in various leadership roles, and when the opportunity arose to purchase the studio, we just knew it was the right time to take the next step. We are a family rooted in the community and are passionate about capturing joy through fine art portraiture. We believe the portrait experience should be fun, and the final artwork…extraordinary! We look forward to welcoming families into the studio, creating a relaxed and joyful atmosphere, and continuing the tradition of exceptional quality and care.
About our studio
Our Lake Orion studio is located just outside the downtown area, offering an easy, relaxed arrival while still being close to the charm Lake Orion is known for. Once a popular lakeside destination, the area continues to feel welcoming and family-friendly—making it a lovely place to slow down and enjoy a meaningful experience together.
Many families choose to make their portrait session part of a larger outing, pairing their visit with nearby shops, restaurants, or outdoor spots around Lake Orion. Our studio location is designed to feel calm and unrushed, while remaining conveniently accessible from surrounding communities.

"Wow. This place is beautiful. From the moment you walk in, you are literally standing in a fairytale. You then walk back into the photography room which is straight out of a book. So beautiful.
